Its truly amazing what these scammers think that they can get away with. The amount of Spam that is out there is incredible, I think that I have won the UK Lotto about 10 times yet I live in South Africa and have never applied for the Lotto but yet I have won. People have to be very careful what mail that they open up and where its going to lead you.
Interesting post.

With the new Office (the 2007) design, look & feel, Microsoft have made a giant leap. True that it takes time to get use to the new ribbon and to get around quickly.. But once you are familiar with it, you rock!

We do a lot of researches on the web, and using Excel macros,
we have improved our research speed in 30%. That huge!!

Using OneNote have improved our research information control (nothing get lost now) and with the sharing files abilities, now everyone can contribute to the project.

So to summary it all, we are more then happy with the tools that comes in the Office 2007.
We looking forward to the new one... ;)

With the SP2 support for open source files,
our CRM improved since we don’t have to “fight”
with our clients anymore :)

The 2007 was a great investment with benefits to us.

Thank you for the post.

Ex Libris also identified Verde as a development priority, so we should be able to see over the next few months what progress they make.

[...] 6) Daylight Saving Time. Yes, it’s that topic again. LITS did all their patching, and Acorn and most things on the Heard Network seem fine. People’s PDA’s are probably still struggling with the time change thing, and Exchange servers, and the clients that connect to them (for Microsoft Outlook) are still unhappy (as we here in WML know quite well!) For tips on dealing with this murky stuff, please see my previous post. [...]

Once you peel away the marketing spin in the press announcment, what they are really saying is that they have selected Unicorn as their strategic ILS platform and that development of Horizon has been terminated. Rome 1.0 = Unicorn GL3.2+. While the longer term vision for Rome / Unicorn might include some broader search and content components, I'm not aware of anything that they are doing that is quite like Primo.

While we're fortunate that they chose Unicorn as their single flagship system, I'm a bit surprised that they are choosing to base their technology platform on an ILS with an internal architecture of fairly old vintage rather than the one that they just spent millions redeveloping with state-of-the-components.

So what is SirsiDynix's next-generation system? It's the one we already have.

Thanks Rachel this was very informative. One thing I should have known about VU print, but didn't or didn't remember is that if you use the Print later command you should print within 20 minutes or you lose all of your print jobs!.

Thanks for the new setup, it's easier than hunting for the laptop. It took me a few seconds to recognize which button to push to get the desk computer up and running ( I should have logged into email this week before arriving), it was very smooth.
