This weblog was created on Friday, October 13, 2006 by Rachel Vacek in the hopes of keeping library Walker Management Library staff current in the latest technological updates, announcements, news, etc. Prior to the blog, she published an irregular email newsletter called the Friday Tech Update, which started shortly after her arrival at the Walker Library back in July 2004. Since creating this site, she wanted her colleagues to be able to go back and search previous newsletters, so she brought them into this blog, and plans to migrate other helpful material to this resource.
This site will primarily cover the technological happenings going on in the Walker Management Library (WML) in the Owen Graduate School of Management (OGSM) at Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, Tennessee. But don’t be shocked if you see some occasional humor, interesting news, and commentary about something probably Rachel only finds fascinating. Enjoy!
